How are the enterprises taking the advantages of Virtualization?

Again I would like to share the portion that I read from the whitepaper from HP. This says that the current enterprises are taking a lot of benefit from the virtualization for specific business scenarios. These are listed as below:

  1. Accommodate explosive growth
  2. Manage mergers and acquisitions
  3. Control costs and compliance
  4. Reduce deployment time for client devices
  5. Reduce operational costs
  6. Increase scalability
  7. Provide new services
  8. Enhance customer satisfaction

Windows Azure’s Virtual Machines

Most of us are unaware of windows azure. But for those who have the concept of cloud computing, can understand the windows azure as a different services. So basically for the infrastructures, Azure helps to create a virtual machines in cloud. Those machines are virtual, this is the reason we call them VMs. On talking with its purpose for virtual machines, we can find the various servers that could be created and installed within few minutes.

Azure provides the servers that are listed below as the virtual machines:

  • Windows Server 2012 Datacenter

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 Preview

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  • SharePoint Server 2013 Trial

  • SQL Server 2014 CTP1 Evaluation Edition On Windows Server 2012

  • SQL Server 2014 CTP1 Evaluation Edition On Windows Server 2012 R2

  • SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise On Win2012

  • SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise On Win2K8R2

  • SQL Server 2012 SP1 Standard On Win2012

  • SQL Server 2012 SP1 Standard On Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  • SQL Server 2012 SP1 Web On Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Enterprise On Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Standard On Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

  • BizTalk Server 2013 Enterprise

  • BizTalk Server 2013 Evaluation

  • BizTalk Server 2013 Standard

  • Visual Studio Ultimate 2013 Preview

  • openSUSE 12.3

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3

  • Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS

  • Ubuntu Server 12.10

  • Ubuntu Server 13.04

  • OpenLogic CentOS 6.3

I guess more and more virtual machines will be added to Azure. So which one will you prefer, Azure provides you as you wish. Happy Cloud Computing Smile

Why windows azure?

I guess most of us know about the windows azure. It’s the cloud computing platform provided by Microsoft Corporation. I have mention these things in previous blogs too and you can refer them.

Focusing on the application, windows azure provides the facility of the virtual machines, cloud services and web sites. And they are designed on the various levels. If we work on our data center, all we require is hardware, virtualization, O/S, Network, Firewall rules, Data and applications. Working on virtual machine all we need not to worry about is virtualization and hardware. All we need to think about is the rest of the requirements. on the other hand if we go to cloud services the O/S level worry is also cleared out. i.e. all we need to worry about is the application, data, firewall rules and the virtual networks. And the last thing i.e. working on the websites provides the worrying about the application and the data. Here comes the thing that the powerful websites can be created in a seconds. you can start for free and scale as per your wish, code it using your favorite language and finally deploy it. The figure below shows the contents that I have explained in details:
